Fashion inspired interiors.

Here are some gorgeous dresses I would love to add to my winter wardrobe, and interior elements they inspire.

Spinning Lace Dress, Anthropologie
This dress is elegant and has a vintage feel.  I love how the lace is delicate looking, but has weight at the same time.  My wallpaper obsession is growing, and I love this neutral lacey damask print wallpaper that has a reflective quality.  It bounces light around the room.  The pale mauve upholstered chair has gold nailheads and antiquing on the wood, which gives the chair a little more interest.  The room looks quiet, calm and beautiful.

DVF Delia Dress, Saks Fifth Avenue
Tailored but drapey, this Diane Von Furstenburg dress inspires classical architecture, graphic shapes, and a comfortable palette.  The rhythm between geometric shapes plays gorgeously with the strong contrast between the blue walls, bright white trim, and rich dark wood floors in the space below.  I really like the crispness of this interior, and the clean design styled with lots of beautiful accessories.

Pleated Neck Dress, Ann Taylor
Neutral and pleated, this dress would look super cute dressed up or down.  I really admire the living room below and the way the designers dealt with the angled walls above the fireplace and mantel.  The corners lead your eye up, and the French pleat curtains bring them back into the bright and sunny space.  The furniture is eclectic, consisting of a slipcovered channel arm sofa and chair, chamferred corner coffee table, contemporary lucite side table, and antique serpentine chiffonier.  I’m taking note of the artful coffee table book placement.

Wrap Dress, Banana Republic
Love the wrap dress!  You can dress it down with leggings and boots, or up with heels and a stack of great necklaces.  This glamorous living room is all about the color, and doesn’t look too fussy to be lived in.  The mirrored accents give the room a spacial quality.  The best part of this image, I think, is the wallpaper on the chimney wall bump out.  I am thinking something like this for our living room using the Cole and Sons woods wallpaper, and am happy to see it look so good.  Now just have to figure out how to get a 10ft ladder up the stairs to our apartment to hang it on the wall…
