I saw this image of Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch's NYC home on
Habitually Chic and instantly fell in love with the look of high gloss black floors. How can you not after seeing how gorgeous they are here?
The library is not half bad either!

I just can't take how beautiful the contrast on the dark floor is with the walls and ceilings. It instantly transforms any space and gives it a dramatic feel. Something I learned in design school is that materials boards should always be black, because it make everything on them pop. So it makes sense that glossy black floors make furnishings center stage. Absolutely a will-try at some point!
