I'm very proud to share with you that some of our wedding photos were used in Southern New England Weddings, 2011!
On the first page, the bottom left and right photo came from our day, and on the second page, the bottom two are our wedding.

Planning a wedding is a lot like designing a space. From the business end, you're dealing with vendors, price shopping, keeping on budget, and staying on schedule, and from the design point of view, you get to design and set up a space, sometimes more than one, for a fabulous party.
There are so many great places to find wedding and interior inspiration, and I think the two most definitely overlap.
For our wedding, we wanted a rustic elegant theme that looked homespun. Here are some close ups and the concepts behind them.
I used my maid of honors dress as the main inspiration. The other dress colors were pulled from her print. Similar styles but different neutral colors were all tied together with a champagne sash. Thank you JCrew!
Since the bridesmaid dresses told the color story, I kept the flowers all white. Same color, different flowers.
I've never been a fan of posed pictures, and we wanted our photos to look natural and casual. Thanks to Jill and Tom for the beautiful and natural backdrop.
Instead of favors, we typed up some of our favorite family recipes on card stock in the same style as our invitations, also handmade ourselves. The lace paper punch complimented the lace overlay of my dress.
Our escort cards were displayed on a family tree made of faux leafy boughs. We printed each guests name and table on cardstock and hung with rose ribbon. Underneath the tree, we displayed family wedding photos in spray painted frames we already had lying around.
Engagement shoots taken by Samantha Bohall were shared on a wrought iron room screen.
A combination of round and long rectangular tables were set with runners and cloth napkins my mom and I made, and scattered with tealights and white flowers tied with a ribbon in simple vases. I never liked lots of leafy greens in bouquets, and I wanted the flowerbunch centerpieces to look handpicked and assembled for a simple elegant look.
Rather than spend the extra money on more flowers for some centerpiece vases, our bouquets were recycled and placed in vases at our tables.
Letter templates were strung on ribbon and tied to the backs of our chairs.
Table names were placed in spray painted frames.
Even though the palette is neutral, interest was brought in with with contrast between the linens, dark woods, and greens.
My brother, brother in law, and husband were great sports to hang 75 paper lanterns above the dance floor with fishing line. I still don't know how they did it.
The cake was a wedding gift, handmade by my aunt. She did a great job making the frosting look like a lace overlay.
We were able to customize our entire menu. Pasta with pesto was served as part of the main course.
Extra fabric was tied around potted herbs for the cocktail tables.
I was inspired from Etsy to make my hair clip. I used scraps the seamstress cut when fitting the dress to sew together a flower pin.
Our guest book was a fishbowl of paper notes.
Our sparkler sendoff was so fun!
